Everything began with a Denon Record Player from the seventies. The wooden housing, from which the varnish was already pealing off and the oxidation of the, in cobwebs covered, tone arm, were proof of an antiquated audio system. Then 12 years of age, I grabbed this record player, borrowed secretly a few records from the hippy collection of my parents and set up a stereo system in my room. This consisted of a record player and a tape deck. The first scratch sessions were terrible and didn’t sound in any way similar to the Hip Hop tapes.  With 17 I bought my first record and sealed with this the pact with the “collectors’ addiction“.

At first a bit shy, I soon overcame the uneasy feeling of not looking thoroughly enough through the record shelves in the music stores in order to expand and to be sure that I had every rarity in my possession.  Shortly after this I had the urge to go to Zürich, Berlin, Paris or New York to search the record shelves of the Metropolises to satisfy my addiction.  After this beginning at home, where there was hardly any more space in my room for the valuable vinyl and decks, came the offer from a few friends to share their music room. This option opened for me new ways and possibilities. The exchange of ideas and the technical improvement was particularly noticeable. Later came the first requests from private parties and local pubs for which I occasionally played. However, the general change in the scene didn’t appeal to me anymore and I had difficulty in identifying myself with this music.

2005 I saw a concert from “The Prodigy” in Sydney. Suddenly there was something new, something fast, something electronical and with drive. This awoken interest was exactly the same feeling I had had at the beginning of my record adventure and, of course, I wanted more. Starting with chill-out and Breakbeats the playback media also altered. The mixing with laptop via interface opened for me the possibility to work on and to project various styles of music on the turntable. Also the fact that one could download new songs made things much easier.  When the old group in the studio slowly broke up due to different music styles and interests, it opened the possibility for me to join up with Livid.  With the experimentation of various styles of music, from House to Electro, House to Minimal, discovered Tech House and Techno. The variation of these new directions completely fascinated me and mirrored my soul. I am at the beginning of my electronical discovery journey and want more…
